What data needs to be protected?
What is personal data and why is it worth protecting?

Personal data is very popular. Especially companies that want to sell you something specifically have a great interest in getting hold of personal data. The sale of personal data is booming worldwide. However, all individuals have a right to informational self-determination. The storage and processing of personal data is therefore only permitted with the consent of the person(s) concerned.

According to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (FDPA), personal data is all information that relates to a natural person or that can be related to that person and thus allows conclusions to be drawn about that person’s personality. This data worthy of protection includes all information about personal and factual circumstances. This includes information and details such as the (correct) name, the address or other postal address and the telephone number. The e-mail address and the IP address of the computer are also personal data, as they can be used to identify you.

Information that cannot be used to determine the identity of a person does not belong to personal data worthy of protection. Such information is, for example, all information without any reference to the name, for example only information on gender or age. Information of a general nature, such as “65% of the visitors to this website are female” is also not personal data.

Dealing with data that is sent out involuntarily
Storage in server statistics and server log files

It does not matter whether Edge, Firefox or Google Chrome are used as browsers – browsers transmit certain data regardless of whether this website is visited. This includes, for example, information about the browser used and the browser version, information about the operating system used on the computer, the referrer URL (the previously visited page), the host name of the accessing computer (IP address), information about the size of the monitor used and the time of the server request.

Such data is automatically stored in the server statistics. The storage serves only internal system-related and statistical purposes. As a rule, I cannot assign the above-mentioned data to specific persons. I do not combine this data with other data sources.

Server log files

Server log files of websites are automatically kept protocols where all or certain actions are stored in text files on the server. They log the requests and accesses of site visitors (e.g. access to files) including the IP address and also document all error messages. These logs are used in particular to trace errors in the event of problems with the website and also to identify the access paths in the event of illegal access by hackers.

The server log files are not used by me to evaluate behaviour and are also not linked to other collected data. In this respect, it is not possible for me to assign the data in the server log files to specific persons.

The data collected is used exclusively to review, assess and evaluate the effectiveness of technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of processing in accordance with Art. 32 (1) lit. d GDPR.

Handling of data provided voluntarily
E-mail – Further

The use of this website is generally possible without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data is collected on the site, this is always done on a voluntary basis within the scope of the purpose limitation.

E-mail

I do not offer the possibility to contact me via a form provided on the website. For this purpose, you/they will only find my e-mail address on this website.

I would like to point out that data transmission on the internet can have security gaps, even with encrypted transmission. A complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Data processing against the background of contacting me is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your/your voluntarily given consent.

Further

For the electronic processing of the respective contact, I store the data on a PC. This data may be passed on to another member of our group if he/she can answer a question better than I can. However, personal data will not be passed on to other third parties or even to outsiders without your/your express consent.

What cookies do – Block cookies – Change cookie settings – Cookie list

This website uses so-called cookies. These are used to make this website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. The cookies used here do not serve to store personal data or to track user behaviour. In general, they only help to make the website faster and easier to see and use.

However, third-party services are also used here that set “tracking cookies” such as social media buttons and, where applicable, YouTube videos. (Please read the relevant sections).

Many cookies can be blocked via your browser!

As an internet user, you can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers have an option with which the saving of cookies can be restricted or completely prevented. In addition, you can also install an add-on that allows you to view and block tracking cookies on websites you visit (e.g. “Ghostery”).

I would like to point out that the user comfort when visiting this website may be limited by the blocking of technically necessary cookies.

The fact that cookies are used on this website is indicated first and foremost when visiting this website. You are free to choose which cookies this website may set in your browser. Thus, you actively accept the use of cookies according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your voluntarily given consent.

Change cookie settings:

Please note: If further cookies are to be excluded with a change, these must also be deleted in your browser. Merely changing the cookie selection on this website does not change/delete cookies already set on the computer!

Embedded YouTube videos
How we protect your personal data

It is conceivable that YouTube videos will be embedded on this website. The embedding of YouTube videos takes place exclusively on the basis of YouTube’s “Extended Data Protection Mode”. According to its own information, YouTube only stores information about visitors to a website against this background if they play the corresponding video. You can find more information on this at https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780?hl=de in the section “Activate extended data protection mode”.

I do not gain any knowledge of what data the Google service “YouTube” collects when a video is viewed. We expressly point out that we can no longer protect your personal data when you watch a YouTube video. In this respect, the use of this Google service is based on voluntarily given consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

Please read the privacy policy there!

Links to third-party websites are offered here in particular when they offer additional information. I have no influence on how these third-party providers deal with data protection practices. You follow the links provided at your own risk. In this respect, the use of links on this website is based on your voluntarily given consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Please be sure to read the data protection statement on the third-party site!

Right to information, correction, deletion & revocation
Exercise your rights!

You can ask me at any time for information as to whether and what personal data, if any, has been stored. If personal data should have been stored, you can have it corrected at any time, e.g. if you have a new e-mail address. If personal data has been given to me, you can have it deleted at any time. Data that must be retained for legal reasons will not be affected by deletion. Furthermore, you/they have the right to revoke your/their consent to data processing at any time with effect for the future. The legal basis for this is Art. 7 (3) and Art. 15 to 17 DSGVO.
